Membership
Breckland Model Aero Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club and has an open non-discriminatory policy as outlined in our Club Constitution. The Club is open to flying and non-flying (Social) members of all abilities.
Please follow the steps below to become a member...
1. British Model Flying Association (BMFA)
All memberships are from 1st January to 31st December.
BMFA membership covers insurance for yourself and 3rd parties. You will also receive free RC magazines throughout the year.
BMFA Membership for Senior Flyers (2026): £51 (see BMFA website for other grades)
The BMFA membership fees are reduced in July and September.
Payment should be made directly via their online Portal.

2. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
Recent UK legislation makes it illegal to fly an unmanned aerial vehicle (fixed wing or rotor) over 250g without CAA registration
(a) Flyer ID (Free) - Valid for 5 years
All pilots (or adults supervising child pilots under 13) must pass a FREE online theory test and obtain a "Flyer ID Registration Number" eg GBR-RP-XXXXXXXXXXXX

(b) Operator ID - Valid for 1 year
All model aircraft owners must register and pay £11.79 for a 1 year Operator-ID (CAA) or Registration Competency Certificate (BMFA).
The unique "Operator ID" number (eg GBR-OP-XXXXXXXXXXXX) must be attached to ALL of the models owned by the registered operator in accordance with CAA guidelines.

It is the responsibility of individual members to ensure that they are flying legally and to ensure that their models are airworthy and showing correct identification.
All CAA Operator registrations run for one year from the date of registration.

3. Breckland Model Aero Club (BMAC)
Membership (2026): Seniors £35, Juniors (under 18) and Social (non-flying) £0
(Seniors joining after 1st July £20)
BMAC membership runs from 1st January to 31st December.

The privately owned Two Mile Bottom flying field is open to the general public. Whilst restrictions are in place during flying operations, the area is open for spectators to view the aircraft, ask questions and learn more about our club.
Applications
If you wish to join our club, please contact a member of our Admin staff for further details. Membership details are managed online via the BMFA portal.

SITE MAP
The BMAC flying field is surrounded by woodland, a railway, a power station, a scout and guide camp and a river. In addition to these hazards, there are also no-fly zones over the car park and pit areas. Site Map
